PunterPolls Prediction – Match 36: Rajasthan Royals v Sunrisers Hyderabad at Jaipur, 27 April

The surprise successes face off | PunterPolls Prediction

As this season's IPL approaches its half-way stage, the points table will, increasingly, come to dominate the attention of teams and players. Not much separates two team which were widely predicted to struggle, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Rajasthan Royals - Royals have played one game less and are two points behind - and both look good to remain strong contenders for a place in the top four as the competition for points intensifies. Both played their respective previous games against Chennai Super Kings, and lost in an almost identical fashion with the games decided in the final over of Super Kings' chase.

There was another striking commonality: allrounders who played a crucial role in helping their team post a competitive score slipped up in the final over - Ashish Reddy and Shane Watson. The teams are playing each other for the first time this season, on a Jaipur track on which seamers have had considerable success. Dale Steyn and Ishant Sharma will be aware, so will Shaun Tait - it remains to be seen if he plays - and Sreesanth. Shikhar Dhawan and Watson are fresh from impressive knocks at the top of the order, and there is plenty of spunk in the middle to surge in the death overs. Though Royals may sense a slight edge playing at home, these two teams seem fairly evenly matched with the way things have panned out this season.

Royals v Risers, two of the teams who has suprised everyone in this edition, especially Sunrisers Hydrabad. But this time they are playing at Royals home ground, and this team can beat any team at their home ground. We will be very surprise, if Risers able to pull this game.  And if they do, we believe they deserve a place in play-offs.

Rajasthan have won two and Risers have won three out of last five matches they have played. Both teams have lost their last games against CSK in Chennai in similar fashion. So the team who will hold their nerves should win the game. And our experts choice is Royals.

PunterPolls Prediction – Match 35: Kolkata Knight Riders v Kings XI Punjab at Kolkata, 26 April

Crown slipping, defending champions face KIngs XI | PunterPolls Prediction

Kolkata Knight Riders have to be smarting from their last match against Kings XI Punjab. They had the game done and dusted when the Kings XI bowlers began to bounce Yusuf Pathan and Manoj Tiwary, and pulled off a heist. The pitch for the return match, in Kolkata, will not afford that kind of bounce, and Knight Riders will be keen to get their own back.

However, this is no longer about just revenge. The defending champions are fading fast. After losing their last three matches, Knight Riders are languishing with just four points from seven games. Only Pune Warriors and Delhi Daredevils have been worse than them. The crown is slipping fast, and Knight Riders need to get a grip on it.

Unlike Kings XI, for whom lesser names like Mandeep Singh and Manpreet Gony have been making contributions, Knight Riders haven't had much of note from their non-internationals. Forget their choice of overseas players, forget Jacques Kallis' strike rate of 106, forget whether Brendon McCullum should play or not, Knight Riders need contributions from Yusuf, Tiwary, L Balaji and others.

Kings XI, on the other hand, have started to build momentum, with David Miller providing them that X-factor. Now for Adam Gilchrist to fire.PunterPolls Prediction

Yesterday another Punters day, Its been amazing isn't that Punters on our site is very accurately predicting the result of the game. KKR no doubt a strong team but they are loosing. In last five game they just won one game and this does create doubts in anybody's mind that can KKR win the game. They have lost from MI and CSK at their home turf and their moral is also not at very good stage.

Kings XI boosted with confidence with three wins in last five matches. Kings XI does have very good chance to register another win as KKR moral is down and their fielding is not upto the mark with the inconsistency in batting line-up.

Our experts believe this should be Kings XI game

PunterPolls Prediction – Match 34: Chennai Super Kings v Sunrisers Hyderabad at Chennai, 25 April

Stumbling teams look to revive campaigns | PunterPolls Prediction

How did they do it? Sunrisers Hyderabad were at best predicted to be spirited also-rans, but despite their supposed weaknesses, they are near the top end of the table. Their run until now has been as unexpected as Delhi Daredevils' rut and the surprise is visible in Dale Steyn's smirk every time he is interviewed after a tight win. In Chennai, where they will be without their in-form allrounder - Thisara Perera, against a home team that has enough ammunition in their batting to raze their bowling attack, Sunrisers' pluck is going to get seriously tested.

Sunrisers' balance is going to take a hit in the absence of Perera who has been their top run-scorer and has picked up nine wickets. With Steyn, Ishant Sharma and Amit Mishra, they still have bite in their bowling, but it's their batting which continues to be a headache. They left out Kumar Sangakkara in the last two matches to allow Quinton de Kock time to settle in preparation for this match, but that move has had zero results. With Perera missing, they are in serious need of some good news on the batting front. One came yesterday - Shikhar Dhawan took part in training on Tuesday evening and could feature in Chennai.

Chennai Super Kings have no such issues. After a scratchy start to the tournament, they have had three wins a row. Their bowling strangled the opposition in two of those games and their batting rose to the occasion in the third. Suresh Raina, who had a quiet start to the tournament, also showed signs of returning to form with a half-century in the last match. Faf du Plessis is also available for selection. No question then who starts this match as a favourite. However, Sunrisers can take encouragement from the fact that Pune Warriors sneaked out a win in Chennai too.

PunterPolls Prediction

Our experts are not doing a great job as far as predicting the result of the game is concern. But our punters are doing some amazing job. Team supported by most of the punters are winning matches. By the time of posting this, 61% punters are supporting CSK. Do you think punters are at the wrong end of this match?

Risers have shown some exceptional cricket till now and now they are going to fight against the mighty CSK and that too at their home ground. We were very confident when PWI had played against them but opposite to our predictions Pune Warriors won that match. In that match too CSK were supported by 62% of punters.

CSK have won last four matches out of five and Sunrisers have lost two of last five matches they played. In this match, their inform lankan player Thisara Perera won't play neither Sangakara will be available for the game. Though their is news that Dhawan is fit and may available for the game. We really want to see the final eleven for the Sunrisers.

All in all, it should be CSK game. Today we are with Punters and whenever this has happened we ended up as surprise. Lets see what would happen today.

PunterPolls Prediction – Match 33: Kolkata Knight Riders v Mumbai Indians at Kolkata, 24 April

Stumbling teams look to revive campaigns | PunterPolls Prediction

Kolkata Knight Riders and Mumbai Indians. Defending champions and the most high-profile line-up in the IPL. A third of the way into IPL 2013, they sit at No. 6 and No. 7 on the points table. That in itself might not be too alarming at this stage, given how teams can flit up and down the table in the space of a couple of games; more worrying for the sides would be their performances in their previous two games. While Knight Riders failed to win key moments with the ball and close out the games when ahead, Mumbai Indians looked completely hapless in theirs, losing by 87 runs and nine wickets.

Both teams have selection matters to mull. Knight Riders will have to decide whether to allow the big-hitting Brendon McCullum a chance ahead of Eoin Morgan, though that seems unlikely. Captain Gautam Gambhir hinted on the eve of the match that Knight Riders would stick with Morgan - who has been doing well for the team - as it was a choice between wanting "McCullum at the top or a finisher in the middle". Mumbai Indians captain Ricky Ponting, meanwhile, will once again have to see whether he fits into his team's line-up at all.

The game comes with a subplot: it coincides with Sachin Tendulkar's 40th birthday. The Cricket Association of Bengal and Mumbai Indians' management have several plans to celebrate the occasion, including a 40-pound chocolate cake reportedly made of cocoa from Ghana and Madagascar. Tendulkar - whose half-century in the previous game, against Delhi Daredevils, came at a strike-rate that is barely passable in Twenty20 cricket - and his team will be hoping for an on-field performance that does not mar the day's festivities.

PunterPolls Prediction

Though Mumbai Indians batting has crumbled against the Royals, their batting lineup is by far the best in the tournament. Their bastmen while chasing the target is always under pressure. And while batting first, they generally able to put good score on the board.

Other hand, KKR's bowling attack is reasonably good but in batting their middle order is not performing very well. Gambhir is playing very well at the top and if he will be able to get some support from Kallis and Morgan they can pull up any match. Kolkata playing at their home ground is an extra advantage for the team as well, though they have be outshine by CSK other day.

Our experts believe Kolkata Knight Riders should win this game.

PunterPolls Prediction – Match 32: Delhi Daredevils v Kings XI Punjab at Delhi, 23 April

Northern neighbours buoyed by weekend success | PunterPolls Prediction

Whether it was the inspiration of meeting Sir Viv Richards, or the abysmal bowling from Mumbai Indians or Virender Sehwag and Mahela Jayawardene finally playing the way they are expected to, Delhi Daredevils finally ended their winless streak at eight (including the losses in the playoffs last season). Chances of reaching the playoffs still remain remote, but at least they have got their campaign off the ground.

They made a big call ahead of the match against Mumbai on Sunday, dropping their best bowler from the previous season, Morne Morkel. His replacement Andre Russell, however, continues to leak runs at an alarming rate - his economy-rate of 9.95 is the third worst in the IPL, behind only the forgotten P Amarnath and his Daredevils team-mate Sehwag. Daredevils have struggled to settle on their four overseas players this season, and will have to tinker again against Kings XI Punjab.

Their opponents may have pulled off the joint highest chase of the season against Pune Warriors on Sunday, but have some major team changes to make. Two of their regulars, Adam Gilchrist and Azhar Mahmood, have fared poorly in recent matches and both are on the brink of losing their places. They might get another shot, as coach Darren Lehmann has ruled out Shaun Marsh for the match. Marsh, who joined the squad recently, has not played any cricket after recovering from a surgery and Lehmann stated that he would be considered for selection only after he regained full fitness and participated in fielding drills.

What will be a huge lift for Kings XI is that their team - generally regarded to have one of the most fragile batting line-ups in the tournament - managed to overhaul a stiff 185 against Warriors, even without needing the services of David Hussey. David Miller and Hussey have performed well for the side and the win against Warriors has lifted them to mid-table, above heavyweights like Mumbai and Kolkata Knight Riders.

PunterPolls Prediction

Have just seen some bombarded batting by C.Gayle and hopping that this Delhi v Kings XI match would have been excited enough to watch. Have just seen half a match today and don't want to see another one sided match.

Both Delhi Daredevils and Kings XI have shown some good cricket over the weekend and we are hoping that this match will go on to the wire. Kotla pitch favors the spinners and chasing should be difficult on this ground.

Our expert believe team bat first should win this game. My personal choice is Delhi.

PunterPolls Prediction – Match 31: Royal Challengers Bangalore v Pune Warriors at Bangalore, 23 April

Who will captain Pune Warriors? | PunterPolls Prediction

Five of the nine franchises are captained by foreign players, leading to the debate about whether foreign captains are a liability when they don't perform well. Seven games into this tournament, Pune Warriors have already had three captains - Angelo Mathews, Ross Taylor and Aaron Finch (all foreigners). One was an enforced change, with Mathews forced to sit out a game in Chennai, leaving Taylor to lead. However, Mathews' poor form (5 matches, 52 runs, 1 wicket) has upset the team's plans and hence he was left out of Warriors' last game against Kings XI Punjab, handing the captaincy to the inexperienced Aaron Finch.

The leadership crisis hasn't helped Warriors as they stay at No.8 in the points table, above Delhi Daredevils. If Warriors decide to go with an Indian captain, the only logical option is Yuvraj Singh, who returned after missing two games to injury. Ross Taylor didn't feature against Kings XI, in order to accommodate Luke Wright. The questions remain - if not Mathews, who will walk out for the toss in Bangalore? Will they settle on an Indian captain once and for all?

They've been dogged by inconsistency all season. In Mohali, they had the upper hand at the start of the final over with 15 to defend, but Wright's horrid over handed the game to Kings XI. Warriors had positives to draw from the defeat, but against Royal Challengers Bangalore, their bowlers will have to step up.

Royal Challengers are the team with the best home record this season, having not conceded a single game at Chinnaswamy. Their match against Warriors will be their last at home before they embark on a six-matches tour. Their next home fixture is on May 14. Against Rajasthan Royals, their seamers did well to keep the total to an underwhelming 117. The chase was measured, with Chris Gayle scoring a patient 49. It may not have been the most entertaining chase, but Royal Challengers were determined to keep wickets in hand and not choke.

PunterPolls Prediction

5 out of last 6 matches Team supported by Punters have won the match and this shows how good punters are as far as judging the winner in advance. Here I would like to mention that, during the matches only 1-3% fluctuation has been noticed so far. So, more or less punters decide the winner before the first ball bowled.

RCB havn't lost a single match at their home ground and Pune has lost their way in last few games. Warriors captaincy is a bigger problem, Mathews is not in a good form and in the last match they included Luke Wright which works fine. But at Banglore they need to improve their bowling as the ground is small and pitch is super good for batting and RCB has few men those can finish the game easily.

If you look into the results of previous matches, you will find that teams are relatively doing well while chasing the target. So on this very ground no target is big target. So our experts believe team chasing the target should win this game.
