IPL2014: 27th match – Mumbai Indians v Royal Challengers Bangalore, May 6, 2014

Match Preview

In their last meeting in Dubai, Royal Challengers Bangalore stomped all over an unsure Mumbai Indians, restricting the latter to 115 and then chasing it down with seven wickets to spare, despite being reduced to 17 for 3.

Both teams will meet on Tuesday at the Wankhede with similar wins in their previous games, wins that could easily have turned into defeats had it not been for individual performances and the teams are similar on many other counts, too. Mumbai and Royal Challengers have powerful line-ups on paper, but that potential has been inconsistent on the field, save for the odd knocks from their stars.

Bowlers from both sides have, given the opportunity, done well but have also found themselves defending a few sub-par totals. Royal Challengers bowlers, however, have had a better run than Mumbai, with the presence of genuine quicks in Mitchell Starc and Varun Aaron and a legspinner in Yuzvendra Chahal.

IPL2014: 24th match – Royal Challenger Bangalore v Sunrisers Hyderabad, 4 May, 2014

Match Preview

With campaigns that coughed and spluttered about in the UAE, both Royal Challengers Bangalore and Sunrisers Hyderabad will have one big target from Sunday's game: a momentum-granting win. Both teams are in the bottom half of the points table with similar figures of two wins in five games, although Royal Challengers are ahead on better net run rate.

At this point, Royal Challengers are also the team with more concerns when compared to Sunrisers. The headliners in their batting line-up have not fired as expected and their last two innings - where they were restricted to 70 and 124 - did not allow a competent bowling attack much room.

Royal Challengers also have the problem of their overseas options not firing, with Chris Gayle admittedly not yet 100% and Albie Morkel's lack of impact with the bat and ball. Unless he's injured, Ravi Rampaul may be a better pick in place of Morkel and given the batting-friendly tracks in India, it may not be a bad idea to give the talented Vijay Zol a chance.

IPL2014: 18th match – Kings XI Punjab v Royal Challengers Bangalore, April 28, 2014

Match Preview

A team wanting to make it to the knockout stage of the IPL can only afford a few horror matches in the season. Royal Challengers Bangalore have already had a couple of them, one after the other, early in their season. A campaign that started with encouraging wins now needs to shake off the bad inertia. It can only be a good thing that they face Kings XI Punjab, the strongest team on current form, next; win this and get the anaesthetic you need to numb the wounds from last two losses.

It doesn't sound easy and it's going to be even more difficult in reality. After two good wins, question marks have now been pasted all over on Royal Challengers' batsmen. It now seems that only the inclusion of Chris Gayle can perk the team up. However, there is still no conclusive news on his fitness. Irrespective of Gayle's availability, the rest of the batsmen, especially the middle order, will need to shrug off the uncertainty that has set in. Royal Challengers' bowling is better placed at the moment and they are likely to bring back the impressive Varun Aaron after resting him from the previous game.

IPL2014: 14th match – Rajasthan Royals v Royal Challengers Bangalore, April 26, 2014

Match Preview

Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rajasthan Royals will go head to head in Match 14 of Pepsi IPL 2014. Both teams have played three matches so far this season. RR’s solitary victory was when they defeated Sunrisers Hyderabad in their season opener, while RCB defeated Delhi Daredevils and Mumbai Indians before going down to KKR most recently.

Both teams will be annoyed and hurting given that despite holding a firm grip on the match for the better part of 40 overs, they couldn’t finish things off. RR restricted a formidable Chennai Super Kings line-up to 140, but there weren’t too many partnerships when it was their turn to bat and the team folded up eight runs short of their target.

Royal Challengers Bangalore were in the driver’s seat at the start of the final over of the run-chase. Needing six off the final three balls, the scales tilted in favour of their opponents, Kolkata Knight Riders, when Chris Lynn pulled off a stunner at the midwicket boundary to send back the dangerous AB de Villiers. Albie Morkel managed only three more runs off the final two deliveries, leaving RCB three short of their target of 151.

IPL2014: Royal Challengers Bangalore v Kolkata Knight Riders, April 24 2014

Match Preview

Royal Challengers Bangalore, who have a 100 percent record thus far in the Pepsi IPL 2014, will clash with the Kolkata Knight Riders in Match 11 of the season.

Both teams rejoin the tournament after four-day break. RCB trounced the Delhi Daredevils in their opening match and then rolled over the defending champions, Mumbai Indians, in their next outing. The Kolkata Knight Riders caused an upset in the very first match of Pepsi IPL 2014 when they defeated MI by 41 runs. In their second outing, they lost a close contest after the Delhi Daredevils prevailed in their chase of 167, getting home by four wickets with three balls to spare.

RCB are loaded with ample ammunition on the batting front – even without Chris Gayle whose participation in this match remains in doubt. Meanwhile, KKR definitely possess riches on the bowling front – in terms of experience, variety and match-winners.

IPL 2014: 2nd match – Delhi Daredevils v Royal Challengers Bangalore, April 17, 2014

Match Preview

Important tournament for Kohli & Yuvraj as well as for Delhi's captain K.Peterson but he has to wait as he is ruled out for the game because of finger injury. Dinesh Kartik will lead the Delhi Daredevils today. Both teams have won 5 matches each in their previous encounters whereas one game been tied.

RCB is looking rock solid because of their quality batting line-up and more importantly, guys are in form. Yuvraj can be the game-changer for them though his last outing wasn't been enjoyed by the audience.

Though stats say Delhi is not doing good from the last few seasons their record against the team is pitty even.
